Tackling Unbelief

By Faith all things are possible. Only by Faith can we please God, and without Faith we can do nothing, but to talk about Faith we first need to tackle UNBELIEF!

Unbelief is doing things our own way, in our own strength, and its root is pride and independence from God. It is soul led not spirit led. It happens when we let our own will, mind and emotions lead us. Faith, as the person of Christ in us however, engages our spirit with God’s Holy Spirit, and He helps us to govern over our soul and situation.

We see in Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown, unbelief was the one thing that restricted the manifestation of Jesus Christ’s supernatural power of God “He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:58).”

Often things don’t happen because of unbelief. It is not because we do not have the divine Authority and power to do something but because unbelief stops the Authority and power to be released. I can press my foot on the accelerator in a manual car all day long and not move an inch! However, the moment I put my foot on the clutch and the clutch is engaged and synchronised with the accelerator I start to move! So faith is like the clutch in a car, when I chose to engage my faith with the Holy Spirit things start to happen!

Unbelief stops us growing spiritually and manifesting the power of God. Jesus said unbelief was limiting his disciples when they couldn’t deliver a demonised man; “Because of your unbelief; truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). Faith engages with divine power to enable the impossible become possible.

Unbelief stagnates our lives. After the Resurrection, the one thing Jesus rebuked the disciples for was their unbelief. They had been “on the road” with Him for three years, 24/7, but they still hadn’t applied their faith! “Later He appeared to the eleven disciples as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen” (Mark 16:14). Don’t let unbelief harden your heart to Spiritual Truth that has the power to transform your life.

Faith is a life of conviction. Apply faith to your decisions and actions you will have an awesome testimony. Faith connects you to God and downloads His power; like a Desk-Light you must connect the plug into the socket to connect to the power for the appliance to work! Plug-in your faith to God’s trustworthy nature revealed in His Word (Christ in you) and Power-up! Stay plugged in! Let Him guide you! Read the Word of God, ask Him to teach you and receive a word of Faith. Listen, Trust and Obey!

Faith is for now and every day. Jesus commissioned His disciples to continue His Heavenly Mission and turn the ‘world upside down’ by releasing His power to save, heal and deliver from all demonic captivity, deceit and oppression but he emphasised it would only happen as they stayed connected to Him by faith (Mark 16:14-18). It remains the same for us today. By having a daily conversation with Him at home in worshipping Him, and through prayer and intercession, listening to the Father with the Word of God your faith will grow.

You always have a choice, choose to believe. Believe is to submit to Father God’s Word of Life and Way of living and doing life. People say many things but ultimately they only do what they submit to, they do what they believe to be true in their heart.

Tackle the unbelief and find the person of Faith in a daily relationship with Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Keep Life simple and believe. Surrender your will to His will and by Faith as you hear and obey His voice in accordance with His Word, nothing will be impossible for you!
